We have a Winner!

Congratulations to Matt  (email not published here due to privacy), who was the first entrant drawn at random to correctly identify the Spitfire Mk VIII in the AI build article as ZP-X A58-600. Once I have your name and address your prize will be posted to you by the end of next week!

Seems nobody knows what the 'pig tail' on a Spitfire Mk VIII is. Sorry to keep you all in suspense but I may keep the answer for a later competition!

ZP-X, A58-600 is noteworthy as it is the only RAAF Spitfire MK VIII to be flown on operations by two aces, Group Captain Clive Caldwell and Wing Commander Bobby Gibbes. I'll post some photos of this a/c later.

Competition closing soon!

The competition closing time is a little under 1 hr (closing end of 26 November, GMT time) away, get your answer in now! If you are still unsure of the answer here are some hints.
  • Its code letter marks the spot, mark the spot with an _. Got it? too easy.
  • The serial is on the '600's range and if you added up the individual numbers you would get 6. need more? ok the last digit is '0' and the second to last digit is also '0'. too easy
